Method

STEP 1

In a deep bowl, add plain flour, smoked paprika, za'atar, and salt. Mix well and set aside.

STEP 2

Cut halloumi block into 1-inch-thick sticks or fries.

STEP 3

Take each halloumi stick and dip it into the flour mixture. Roll until it is completely coated with the flour mixture.

STEP 4

Dip the fries in beaten egg and back into the flour mixture so that they get a nice layer. You can use breadcrumbs to coat the fries as well.

STEP 5

In a deep pan or frying pan, heat oil. Once the oil is hot, add coated halloumi sticks one by one.

STEP 6

Once they get a nice golden colour, take them out of the frying pan and place them on a kitchen towel so that you get rid of excess oil.

STEP 7

You can also air-fry these halloumi fries. Place them in the air fryer basket and air fry for about 10 minutes at 355-degree f. Make sure you turn the fries halfway so that they get an equal colour.

STEP 8

In a bowl, add fat-free yoghurt and freshly chopped coriander. Mix well.
Season the fries with more za'atar and serve the halloumi fried alongside yoghurt dip.
