Cook Time

Method

STEP 1

In a saucepan, add sugar, butter, golden syrup, and salt. Place it on medium heat and stir until the butter melts and the sugar is almost dissolved. Make sure you don't dissolve the sugar completely.

STEP 2

In a large mixing bowl, add quick-cooking rolled oats and pour the hot sugar syrup on it. Mix using a wooden spoon or a spatula until everything is well combined and you get a sticky mixture.

STEP 3

Pour this mixture into a parchment-lined baking dish and spread it evenly.

STEP 4

Place the baking tray in a preheated oven at 325-degree f for about 35 to 30 minutes or until the top gets a golden-brown colour. Make sure the centre of the flapjack is springy and not very soft.

STEP 5

Once done, take it out of the oven and let it cool down for 10 minutes. Cut the flapjack into rectangles using a sharp knife and take them out of the baking dish to a wire rack. Serve once they reach room temperature. Enjoy!
