Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1 Litre Water
  • 500g rolled oats
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 sweet apples
  • 57 ml honey, or maple syrup
  • 30 grams pecans

Method

STEP 1

Chop your apples into 2cm cubes, and roughly chop 30 grams of pecans.

STEP 2

Add 1 Litre of water to a medium pan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once the water is boiling, add the oats into the pan, along with the salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg, then stir well to combine.

STEP 3

Next, add in the chopped apples to the pan. Reduce the heat to medium-low heat and let it simmer over, for 10-12 minutes stirring occasionally to avoid the mixture from sticking.

STEP 4

Once the apples are tender, but still with a slight bite, add in the honey and pecans and stir through the mixture.

STEP 5

Turn the heat off, cover the pan with a lid and allow to cool for 5 minutes.

STEP 6

Serve and enjoy!
